The title of Jagaban is a military title conferred by an emir; it came to widespread popular attention when the Emir of Borgu conferred the title on the former governor of Nigeria’s Lagos State, Bola Ahmed Tinubu; the title has also been conferred on the vice-president of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo, by the emir of Adamawa.
